1. Legacy Quality Assurance Polices

Following the amalgamations of Co Cork VEC, the City of Cork VEC and the SOLAS training services, CETB has engaged with QQI, the statutory agency responsible for promoting quality and accountability in education and training services in Ireland (for further information, see www.qqi.ie ), with the purpose of developing an integrated Quality Assurance system that conforms to, and is guided by QQI’s policies and requirements.

QQI published Core Statutory Quality Assurance Guidelines in April 2016, followed by the Sector Specific Guidelines for ETBs in May 2017. These are informing Cork ETB’s development of a common Quality Assurance System.  This will be an ongoing project and as procedures are developed they will replace the existing procedures that are in place.

Cork ETB has, since its establishment, been operating under the “legacy” Quality Assurance agreements, policies and procedures that were operational in:

  • City of Cork VEC
  • County Cork VEC
  • Solas (Fás) training services

While CETB is working on developing a single, integrated set of policies and procedures, and any of the new policies and procedures that have been developed to date are described further on this page, the following are the resource documents associated with the “legacy” arrangements and are presented for information.

For QA policies and procedures specific to each CETB centre under the legacy agreements, please contact the centre in question directly.

CETB Staff are advised to use the QA SharePoint site for the most up to date documentation in respect of Quality assurance
